Dear Friends, Bangla-O-Biswa is proud
to celebrate its 26th year of Sri Sri Durga Puja on September 30th, October 1st & 2nd,
2005 at Maynard High School, 1 Tiger Drive, Maynard, MA 01754. On behalf of Bangla-O-Biswa, we
cordially invite you, your family members, and friends to join us and
celebrate this auspicious and joyous occasion. Mr. Tapan Bhattacharjee will
perform the puja. Please contact him at 978-689-9354 or any other executive
members if you are interested in helping out with any aspect of the puja. We
need your help and would very much appreciate your participation. We have a truly fantastic line of
program this year – filled with brilliant artists from both India and here.
Our star attraction this puja, is a melodious evening of unforgettable songs
rendered by the vocal maestro Dr. Anup
Ghoshal. Dr. Ghoshal is famous for his varied repertoire that
spans several music genres such as lokgeeti, adhunik, nazrulgeeti, hindi, and
bangla films songs. On Saturday
evening October 1st, 2005,
come and enjoy a nostalgic evening with some of his songs from “Gupi-Gayen
Bagha-Bayen” and “Masoom”. Other interesting programs are Songs by smt. Susmita
Raychaudhuri and her Group followed by “Nagarik Kosbiyal”
a
unique college of poem, song and dance on a foundation theme of “One World
One Future One Citizen” produced and directed by Deepak Deb shall
be presented before Dr.Anup Ghoshal’s program. On Saturday between 2:00 pm to
4:00 pm afternoon we are organizing a on the spot drawing competition for
children ages 4 to 15 years. Children are requested to bring their painting
materials, while we will supply papers. There are prize to be won, for more
details contact Sohagi Chakraborty or you can send her emails if you
wish for more details. On Sunday October 2nd, 2005, there are songs by very famous
Calcutta artist Santanu Bhowmik who will
swing your hearts with his melodious tunes and songs to remember. He gets our
top billing. The Evening will first start with a talent evening & fashion
show by friends & youth of BOB, which will be presented to us by Ms.Sohagi
& her group. Bangla Lokgeeti will be sung smt. Ashima Paul
followed by songs and poetries by Rahul & Swapna Roy lastly concluding
by Hasyo Kautuk by Pratap Pramanik of New Hampshire. We will celebrate Bijoya and Kalipuja on November 5th, 2005 at The Grace
United Methodist Church, 56 Magazine Street, MA. Due to popular demand, Dr. Nishit
Mukherjee Group will perform Hilarious Drama “Nari Shrishti” during Kalipuja.
